The pause between impulse and action

Your values.
Your words.
Your second thought.

VERE · Latin for "truly, genuinely, sincerely"

Vere is a voluntary digital conscience layer. Not a blocker. Not surveillance. Not a judge. Just the version of you that set this up — talking to the version of you that's about to act on impulse.

One pause · A thousand reasons

Different people. Same moment.

Losing hours to social media?
Your words remind you what your time is worth.
Fighting an urge you promised yourself you'd beat?
Your conscience meets you at the door.
Trying to stop spending money you don't have?
Your own voice says not today.
On a diet but keep opening delivery apps?
You already know what to tell yourself.
How it works

Simple. Private. Yours.

Vere works in your browser. Nothing is read, stored, or sent anywhere outside your device. Here is exactly what happens.

1

You choose what to watch

Pick the websites or apps that you want to pause before opening. Social media, gambling, news, shopping, dating apps — whatever matters to you. Vere never decides what's worth watching. That's your call and only yours.

2

You write your own message

Before Vere shows you anything, you write the message you want to hear. Your words. Your voice. Nobody else's judgment. "You told yourself this leads to regret. Take a breath." Only you decide what you need to be reminded of.

3

The pause happens

When you visit a site you're watching, Vere shows you your message before the page loads. You decide to continue or step away. No alarm. No block. No punishment. Just a moment between impulse and action.

4

You see your patterns

Vere shows you how many times you paused, how often you continued, and your current streak. Not to shame you — just so you know yourself better. Everything stays on your device. Nothing is ever sent anywhere.

From the founder

Meet the person behind Vere

No script. No production. Just Vin talking.

Why I built this

People have lost their way. No restrictions, no consequences, instant gratification — no conscience because no one is watching. And the thing no one talks about? Time. It's the one thing you can never get back. Every mindless scroll, every impulse click — that's time gone forever. I built Vere because every human deserves the chance to build a digital conscience on their own terms — and to protect the most valuable thing they have. I am one person. This is real. And it is just getting started.

Exactly what Vere can and cannot see

We publish this because scammers never volunteer what limits their power. We do.

✓ Vere can see
  • The web address of sites you visit — the same thing visible in your browser bar
  • Whether you paused or continued — stored on your device only
  • The personal message you wrote — stored on your device only
✗ Vere cannot see
  • Anything you type, anywhere
  • Your messages or emails
  • Anything inside any app
  • Your photos, location, or contacts
  • Anything on sites you're not watching
  • Anything at all on your phone
There is no server. When you uninstall Vere, everything disappears. The only data Vere touches lives on your device and nowhere else. — Vin · vin@getvere.app

What people said when they saw it

Early feedback sessions — real first names, real words.

"I would absolutely use this. The accountability piece — seeing how often I paused and how often I kept going — that's what's missing from everything else."

Anthony
Early feedback session

"It's calming. It doesn't feel aggressive or preachy. It actually feels like it's on my side."

Yas
Early feedback session

"The fact that it doesn't block anything makes me trust it more. I want a reminder, not a warden. This is the right approach."

Patricia
Early feedback session

"Writing my own message is what sold me. Nobody telling me what's wrong with me — just my own conscience, in my own words."

Margaret
Early feedback session

"This is what Screen Time should have been. A mirror, not a cage."

Richard
Early feedback session

"Something that actually helps me pause for free? I'd tell everyone I know about this."
